In addition, would not such an absolute oppositionality result in just another form of universality?

I am not sure I see how oppositionality is past the post. It would seem like being "against" would just be a return to Hobbes, to be pre the post.

Hi Luke,
I use the Columbia resolver.

http://e-link.cul.columbia.edu:9003/culink

If I remember correctly, diacritics come through fine, which is a little odd since they don't look right on CLIO itself.

Wouldn't it be best for you to use the Emory resolver, though? The big help of a resolver is that it helps find full-text of articles and that sort of thing. You can still pull records out of any compatible catalog without selecting a particular resolver.

James,

We've talked a little bit about this before, but still I'll go ahead and ask: can you recommend a link resolver for a university library that has good South Asia resources and whose citations import into Zotero with diacritics intact?

James did you see the front page of The Indian Express today Nov. 12th 2007? One of the headlines reads, "Crackdown in Pak has militants in Valley confused and worried." It contains an excerpt from supposed radio communication between "a militant in Kashmir and his handler in PoK." It is a bit strange in that it puts a positive spin on the events taking place in Pakistan as if they will help India. As Many Pubby writes on page one, "A flurry of radio messages and phone calls across the LoC in the last few days indicates that Kashmiri militatnts, preparing for a winter stay in the Valley, are a worried lot with the declaration of emergency in Pakistan." Yes, Musharraf's crackdown on the judiciary must really be worrying those operating in Kashmir. Does this make any sense? Check it out if you get a chance.

I think the main threat facing "modern civilization" is the confluence of climate change, global poverty, and unchecked weapons proliferation, but that's just me. It's a little harder to be smug about these issues as the Western liberal tradition doesn't offer any easy answers to these problems.

Political Islam, it should be said, doesn't either.

But really, Ann Coulter and friends are not allies of moderate or progressive Muslims. Isn't that obvious?
